We spoke with actor, Patrick Kerr, on his new role as Mr. DePinna in the Broadway revival of Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman’s You Can’t Take It With You, and why he is having a blast with the star-studded company.
Kerr, a seasoned theater and TV actor, has joined the cast which includes James Earl Jones, Elizabeth Ashley, Rose Byrne, Johanna Day, Kristine Nielson, Reg Rogers, Mark Linn Baker, Will Brill, Annaleigh Ashford and many more of New York’s finest actors. “We just laugh all day long,” Kerr said of the rehearsal process, not only because of the play and great cast, but its director, Tony winner, Scott Ellis. “He’s funny, I mean really funny and is such a pro on how he treats each individual actor,” said Kerr.
If the play is that much fun to rehearse we can only imagine how fun it is going to watch.
Previews started at the Longacre Theater August 26 and it opened September 21 and closed February 22, 2015.

Kerr said from the first day of rehearsal to the last performance it was one of the best experiences of his theatrical career.
Special congratulations to Annaleigh Ashford for the well-deserved Tony.
Thanks @TheAAshford for your hysterically funny and demented dance routines in the wonderful @CantTakeItBway pic.twitter.com/OJRZ3hC8E3

The play first premiered at the Booth Theater in New York City in December, 1936.
We thank Kerr for being such a good sport for this interview when we surprised him with our Google Glass at Joe’s on the Upper Westside.
